Those seasoning packets are so excessively salted not to mention laden with MSG and artificial (non-food) additives! They usually add over twice the maximum recommended total intake for an entire day’s worth of salt in just one serving alone! It is so very easy to make your own! And salt isn’t even needed! If you do want salt then you can simply add it yourself when you are cooking and have complete control over the quantity!
Give this a try instead and you can even adjust to suit your personal taste preferences:
Tam’s Taco Seasoning Blend
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp ground black or white pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
Combine all. If desired pulse in coffee grinder or food processor. Store in airtight container at room temperature.
